Cheddar Beef Stew Bake

1/4 c. butter
1 1/2 cups flour (I use GF Flour Mixture & 1/4 tsp. Xanthan Gum)
2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup (4 0z) grated cheddar cheese
1 tbs. instant minced onion
1 tbs. sugar
1 1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 lb. can Dinty Moore Beef Stew

Melt butter in the bottom of an 8″ square pan.  Combine remaining ingredients except beef stew in a mixing bowl.  Stir until blended.  Pour over melted butter.  Pour beef stew over batter.  Do NOT stir.  Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes.
I love the browned edges of the batter when baked.  It’s so crusty and cheesy!
